Health Equity SIG

Established August 2021

Mission Statement

The Health Equity Special Interest Group (SIG) will serve as a collaborative community of ISPE members with an interest in health equity research, disease disparities, clinical trial diversity, social determinants of health, and the translation of this research into public health programs.

Objectives

  • To provide a diverse collaborative forum for persons around the world interested in health equity research.
  • Share knowledge between members and across the field of health equity research.
  • Further the development of epidemiologic methods for real-world health equity research.
  • Educate the general ISPE membership and external stakeholders on the role of pharmacoepidemiology in health equity research.
  • Promote the professional development of junior ISPE members interested in health equity research,
  • Facilitate the translation of high-quality real-world studies into public health interventions.

Meeting Schedule

We will hold quarterly, all-member teleconferences with agendas developed by committee leadership with input from SIG members. We will hold an annual, in-person meeting at the ISPE annual meeting. At the ISPE annual meeting SIG activities may include teaching pre-conference educational sessions, submitting symposia and workshops, and organizing poster walks.

Please visit our ISPE Community for the latest SIG news, upcoming meetings, membership, documents library, connecting with SIG members and leaders, and more. An account is needed to access the community and join it.
